Awards for entrepreneurs

Besides awards in a particular discipline, there are also a number of awards for enterprising students. Most of them are not focused exclusively on the cultural sector, but you are certainly eligible as a young entrepreneur. 

It is often worth competing even if you do not win, because you get coaching and advice on setting up a business plan, build up a network and get publicity. In many cases you can also win prize money to put your idea into practice or meet investors.

  • Global Studentpreneur Awards (GSEA)
    The studentpreneur award is for bachelor and master students who have registered their enterprise with the Chamber of Commerce. Fifty or so student entrepreneurs from different backgrounds and a variety of enterprises take part each year. You are given the opportunity to have your business model screened by entrepreneurs and managers from the world of industry and commerce. Moreover, participants receive a good deal of publicity in the media, you could win € 10,000 in prize money for your enterprise and participate globally for $25,000 in prize money.
     
  • Creative Business Cup
    The Creative Business Cup is an international competition for entrepreneurs in the creative industry. The aim of the competition is to improve the entrepreneurial qualities of creative entrepreneurs. There are workshops, pitches, and you can build up an international network. Several teams from each country can take part, but only the national winner competes for the title of most creative entrepreneur in the world. The finale is in Copenhagen. The preliminary rounds in the Netherlands are organised by the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.
     
  • The Philips Innovation Award (PHIA)
    De Philips Innovation Award is the biggest award for student entrepreneurs in the Netherlands and helps you to turn your idea into a four-stage business plan, from idea via development and refinement to the final stage. You receive extensive feedback from entrepreneurs at every stage and can win workshops, money prizes from € 10,000 to € 50,000 euro, air tickets and other handy entrepreneurial perks.
     
  • Culture Marketing Awards
    The purpose of the Culture Marketing Awards is to share successful cases with colleagues. Winners are distinguished with a special sculpture. The presentation of the Culture Marketing Awards is also a festive and honorable moment. The Brand & Loyalty Award is presented to a brand strategy case that contributes to the long-term development of a cultural brand and the Campaign Award goes to an effective, creative and innovative marketing communication case. In addition, there is the new Young Talent Award for a cultural marketing talent of 30 years or younger. The professional jury is looking for a young professional with a vision who has turned it into a result through a unique and innovative approach.
