In the first place it is important to build up direct contacts in the field where you want to work. This “networking” is important because it provides insight into the legality of supply and demand in the jazz music profession. Consult colleagues, fellow students and mentors, approach jazz programmers in your area, keep up with the various grant schemes, master classes, courses and workshops which are available here and there.

VPRO Jazz live every week new jazz from the Netherlands and abroad.
Concertzender jazz programmes on Tuesdays between 6pm and 1am, on Friday nights between midnight and 8.30am and on Sundays between 4 and 6pm.
Cultura is the digital theme channel of the public broadcasting service for culture including jazz. U can see the shows on the internet or digital cable tv.

Vrije Geluiden occasionally shows jazz documentaries.
