In the first place it is important to build up direct contacts in the field where you want to work. This “networking” is important because it provides insight into the legality of supply and demand in the jazz music profession. Consult colleagues, fellow students and mentors, approach jazz programmers in your area, keep up with the various grant schemes, master classes, courses and workshops which are available here and there.

Arrow Jazz offers pleasant Jazz-music also attentive to blues and soul.
Concertzender is also available in real time on the internet. It also offers programmes on demand and sometimes as pod-cast.
Zaal 100 On Tuesday evenings you can hear live concerts from Zaal 100 in Amsterdam.
Radio 6 broadcasts a non-stop mix of jazz, world music "and beyond". VPRO jazzprogrammes can be heard on demand.
Muziekweb and the Openbare Bibliotheek van Amsterdam part of the musiccollections can be heard and lend on the internet.

Draaiomjeoren offers reviews of cd's and concerts, interviews and photos. The reviewed bands are usually conservative modern.
Jazzenzo offers travel reports from musicians, news, press releases and reviews of cd's and concerts. It's mostly about modern jazz.
Jazzpodium offers mainly concert reviews and pictures. It's mostly about Dutch jazz and more on modern jazz than mainstream bebop.
JazzFlits is a free fortnightly e-newsletter.
Allaboutjazz offers 'all about jazz'. Cd reviews interviews, mp3 downloads, concertdata, musicians' biographies, jazz stages and recordlabels in the U.S.A.

Jazz best-known jazz magazine in the Netherlands is published every two months.
Jazzism is a new bi-monthly jazz magazine edited by Bert Huisjes.
JazzFlits is a free fortnightly e-newsletter.
Dutch Jazz Archive is part of the Jazzorganisatie, publicizes a quarterly magazine: the Jazzbulletin.
International Jazz archives journal, published by Pittsburg University.

Jazz on radio

Radio 6 platform of the public broadcasting service for jazz, world & beyond and cultural informative programmes. A few programmes:
VPRO Jazz live every week new jazz from the Netherlands and abroad.
Concertzender jazz programmes on Tuesdays between 6pm and 1am, on Friday nights between midnight and 8.30am and on Sundays between 4 and 6pm.  
Cultura is the digital theme channel of the public broadcasting service for culture including jazz. U can see the shows on the internet or digital cable tv.

Jazz on TV 
Vrije Geluiden occasionally shows jazz documentaries.
Kunststof TV The NTR sometimes broadcasts jazz in this programme.
