Subsidies and sponsorship

You need money for your plans. Subsidizing bodies and sponsors can support you or your project with cash or in kind. Neither is any more difficult to find than the other. It may well pay you to try both. Investigate which subsidizing bodies and sponsors are best suited to your project. Every organization has its own objectives and conditions.

Subsidies
There are many funds and subsidizing bodies you could approach. These range from a few well-known major organizations, public and private, to many hundreds of small, mostly private funds. The amounts available vary from a few hundred euros for an individual or a project to many millions in structural support. Applications for the latter always far exceed the money available. But there are also lesser-known funds with cash to spare because they do not receive enough good applications.

Crowdfunding
Crowdfunding is used more often to finance projects. It is a construction in which the intended amount will be collected by a lot of people who each donate a small amount. In exchange the donors are involved in the project in a special way.

Sponsorship
A sponsor provides money or material support in order to put itself in a good light. Large sponsors generally link their names to major projects and events. Small-scale sponsorship is generally easier to arrange and can save a lot of money. For example, you could ask a manufacturer to sponsor you by providing surplus materials. It can also generate good publicity for both.
